Transmission overhaul is a service performed by examining a vehicle’s transmission system in detail and repairing, renewing or replacing defective or worn parts. This process aims to make the transmission last longer, operate properly and increase driving performance.
- Transmission Removal: As a first step, the vehicle’s transmission is removed from the vehicle. This step is important for a detailed examination of the transmission and to begin the necessary revision operations.
- Inspection of Parts: The parts inside the transmission are examined by experts. During this inspection, parts that are worn, damaged or need replacement are identified.
- Part Replacement: Among the parts inspected, those that are worn or damaged are replaced. This makes the transmission more durable and effective.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Oil, dirt and other residues inside the transmission are cleaned. The internal surfaces of the gearbox are cleaned and, if necessary, re-lubricated.
- Reassembly: After the overhaul operations are completed, the transmission parts are reassembled. At this stage, the torque converter, clutch packs, gear sets and other important parts are assembled correctly.
- Setting and Testing: Necessary adjustments are made for the transmission to operate correctly. Next, the transmission is tested and its performance is checked.
- Warranty and Support: Some overhaul service providers may provide customers with a specific period or mileage limited warranty because they are confident in their work.
